NM IDEA Remembers Member Margaret McDaniel
Updated: Apr 27, 2020
We regret to inform our members that Margaret McDaniel passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020. She was a long-time member of NM IDEA and gave many years of service to our organization. She will be greatly missed. The Farmington Daily-Times gave tribute to Ms. McDaniel in an article that can be found here. Our thoughts and prayers are with the McDaniel family.
There will be a memorial service at a later date which will be announced after the COVID-restrictions are lifted.
Margaret was a kind and gentle person, but also a person who strongly believed in her principles. She was a wonderful woman who worked tirelessly for her community and our State. Margaret worked hard to help develop and market the ideas of our organization, NM IDEA. Margaret had a passion for economic development and to made sure that New Mexico’s voice was heard. After leaving NM IDEA, Margaret was elected to the San Juan County Commission where she served as a county commissioner doing the work that she did best - “serving her community and county”.
